Washing Machine: My Panasonic 13.5 kg top-load washing machine spins for only 2 minutes

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? My Panasonic 13.5 kg top-load washing machine spins for only 2 minutes, stops, and then starts refilling with water. After repeating this cycle 3 times, it throws a U13 error code.

This started after an overloaded wash. Even after removing the clothes (or running it completely empty), it keeps doing the exact same thing. I’ve already checked the suspension rods (it doesn't shake) and the safety switch, and both seem fine. Any ideas on what else could be wrong?

GE Washing Machine: GE Front load washing machine won’t drain

GE Washing Machine: Anyone else have a stinky washer?

I bought my front load washer just under 2 years ago. I had been using another brand (that worked very well) for 10 years but stupidly gave the set away because I loved this set in the blue color. It started out fine but for the last 6 months we have to drain it after a few washes because it stinks. I’m talking cess pool stinky! Using a flashlight today we noticed toward the back there appears to be some build up. We don’t want to damage anything so we twisted a sock to try and get out what is in there. I’m really surprised because we are not animals. It’s not like we have muddy disgusting clothes going through the wash. I’m really not sure what to do. I do not shut the door to the washer, so I know that’s not the issue. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how did you resolve it? Thank you in advance!

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Washer fills, agitates, stops, agitates, stops, repeat, then spins.

Whirlpool top loader old school mechanical timer washer. Circa 2005.

The labels on the machine say: Ultimate care II, imperial Series, quiet wash, commercial quality, super capacity plus, 10 cycles, 3 speed motor, 6 speed combinations, porcelain basket.

LSN1000LW0

Washer recently started doing this thing where if agitates briefly then stops. The timer carries on through the cycle. It fills and spins fine. I did the unplug it technique a few times but never to could get it to agitate much longer than 30 seconds at a time in any cycle except for in the extra low agitation cycle ( Delicates)

I have spent some more time observing this machine. My washer says it has 3 motor speeds. Low, high, and extra low agitation and low and high spin are named features of this washer.

4 cycle choices on the dial 1.) normal,-(superwash, heavy, regular, light)-High&low agitation, high spin,

2.) Hand washable- intermittent agitation, low spin,

3.) Extra delicates-extra low agitation.

4.) Casual Permanent press, high& low agitation, low spin

So I Ioaded it lightly and watched it do an entire cycle on each of the 4 cycle settings without interfering.

Normal-It fills, agitates on high, pauses, agitates more, pauses (as if low agitation is skipped?). Timer continues to advance. It goes through this for the entire cycle. It then Spins. Fills for rinse and does the same routine on rinse cycle as during wash cycle. Agitate, pause, agitate, pause. So I started to think about how 3 speed motor operation might be a factor.

I switched to a cycle that says intermittent agitation.( Delicates,) And this cycle seems to work fine. ( Delicate pattern is Agitate, soak( pause) , agitate, soak.

Extra delicate cycle-extra low agitation. This cycle works fine. Yay! At least I can wash light loads on this cycle.

Ok so I'm starting to agree that the circuit that activates agitation levels is suspect.

But now there is more:

The washer tripped the breaker today in the middle of the extra delicate cycle. Pfft.

My family wants me to throw the thing away. I want to fix it.

Edit July 24

I tried to wash a extra light load. It fills and spins but no agitation on any cycle now.The motor hums and timer advances but no agitation at all on any cycle.

I needed a socket wrench extension to get bolt off agitator mechanism. I got one today. Indeed the agitator the dogs are toast. That explains a few things. But the lower agitator worked independently from the upper one previously. So I carried on with lower agitator diagnostics since I already had it taken apart

I found the agitator spline situation to be fine. So I'm moved to test agitator shaft function. I filled washer and observed the shaft. It no longer moves at all. But the machine does still fill and spin.

Does this indicate anything different?

I have ordered some of the contact cleaner stuff delivered. Local hardware store in my town did not have any.

But I'm starting suspect a transmission problem now. But I plan to check the motor coupling as well. ( I have already changed this part once about 5 years ago) Any insight would be appreciated.

Edit July 25

Contact cleaner spray was found and applied to the timer mechanism as suggested. No change in above mentioned situation.

Edit Aug 3

Motor coupler was check and is fine.

However, there is rust all over the place on the chassis and metal parts inside this machine. But it's not wet anywhere. I noticed upon removing the wiring harness from the motor prior to pulling it that the contacts were a bit fouled. So wiped them and sprayed with the electrical cleaner.

Could this have been a factor?

Edit:

I put it back together and tried to run it on extra small load. It filled, agitated for a moment and then stopped agitating. I tried to drain and spin, but it would not do this anymore either. The motor was not as loud as previously, so that's an improvement, nor did it trip the breaker, so that's nice, but, still not operating properly.

So now I have water to bail out.

This may be the end for this machine.

Thanks, Dee

I have replaced the "circulation pump" on my LG WM3997HWA 01 and am now reconnecting the hoses. there are two hoses to the top of the circulation pump. They are both the same size and the two barbs that match them are both side by side. I dont know which hose goes on which barb. One hose goes up to the top of the tub and one goes to the bottom of the tub. One is marked with red marker the other is with blue marker. Both hoses are the same size and either could go on either barb. Which is Which????? LG refuses to talk to me! They say that is technical advice that they dont provide. But they sold me the technicians service manual for $29 and that information is not in the service manual! If I just had a picture of the pump in situ I could figure it out! The barbs are aligned back to front so are identifiable. The hoses go left or right so are identifiable. Its easy, but LG wont help me. They dont want me to buy another LG product like my LG TV and LG Refrigerator which will be replaced by something else when they fail. I wont go thru this again, its not worth it.
