UPS: My UPS is not charging the battery to full.

Hello,

So I watched a lot of YouTube videos and guides on using lithium batteries with UPS units as replacements for lead acid batteries. Which made me buy 2 new APC units with 2 new sets of lithium batteries to try out.

At first the APC units I bought from Amazon were defective, showed a massive load on them when nothing was plugged in. APC replaced them immediately with no issues.

The new ones I got I then pulled out the lead acid batteries and put in a new set of 12v 10ah lifepo4 batteries. Ran a 35w load on it and only got 1 hour and 40 mins of runtime.

So I figured it wasn’t fully charged, and waited 48 hours before my next test, this time it lasted 2 hours and 30 mins, still way below the 6+ hours it should be getting according to the math.

So I bought a different brand of batteries to test to see if it was the battery itself. After a few days of charging I checked both batteries voltage and both were at 26.5v so each battery was at 13.25v, the minimum and maximum voltage for these batteries are 11.4/14.8v so these were not fully charged, on both units.

Whats going on, and how do I fix this?

APC Unit: BR1500MS2

Batteries: MightyMax 12v 10AH LifePO4 Batteries, ECO-Worthy 12v 10AH LifePO4 Batteries

UPS: UPS power on but battery quick losing charge even with new battery

I have Cyberpower UPS, I had the battery replaced about 6 years ago recently the battery was completely dead so I figure it is time to buy a new battery. I replaced it with a new battery as I turned the UPS back on it has about 70% charge so I assumed everything should be working now it just needs to fully charge the battery. A few days later, the new battery was completely dead, I assumed I just got a faulty or old battery so I bought another. I put my 2nd new battery to put in my UPS, the first time I turn on the unit it showed 74% battery follow after that I turned it off and turned it back on again it showed 49% battery, this time I let the battery charge up. After 16 hours later, it only went up by 10% and it won’t charge up above 60% after that another 6 hours. Once again, I turned the UPS off so I can move to a different wall outlet to see if that make a difference, when I turned the UPS back on it showed only 7% battery left. I am thinking it is no longer a battery issue or rather my UPS might be the issue.

UPS: APC Smart-UPS 1500va Bad Board? Bad Fan?

Hello,

I recently inherited an UPS from work. It looked practically brand new (very clean, no dust), but the company was going to get rid of it. Anyway, the battery was dead so I bought a replacement and swapped it in with no problem. However, whenever I’ve suffered from a power outage, the fan kicks on (as it should) but the fan never shuts off once power is restored and battery fully charged. On top of that, the fan makes a very loud noise that almost sounds like a helicopter.

I messaged APC and they said it was out of warranty and the issue could be a board.

After all of this, my question is: Is the board replaceable? If so, would anyone know a company that can service it or how to acquire a replacement board?

I’d really not like to shove out $600 if possible for a replacement.

UPS: Is it a problem that a UPS replacement battery arrived with no charge?

I have 4 APC UPS’s, three Back-Ups 1000XL’s and one Smart-UPS 1500; every two to three years I end up having to replace the battery when the UPS starts complaining that the battery needs to be replaced. Usually when I buy a replacement battery the battery usually has at the very least a 20% charge on arrival but in the most recent instance where I bought a replacement battery it appears to have a zero charge when it arrived. Not knowing how long this sat with a zero charge, is this something to be terribly concerned about or will I still most likely get 2-3 years of good use out of the battery?

Hello everyone, I come to you because my UPS is flawed. Indeed, my UPS makes a noise like clicking even when off. It looks like the clicking noise when the UPS start itself after power off. Except this time, it does it even without being ON. And, when I decide to put ON, it definitely put itself on work condition whatever there is power or not. The situation is that it can't load itself when network works. It can even stop my computer as it is always with empty battery. I have opened it but nothing abnormal at first view. What to do? Thanks

UPS: Why isn't my UPS turning on?

I have a Powercom BNT V1.3 UPS, which I got from my uncle. It's a line-interactive model and decades old. Other than its obviously dead battery, it was working fine when I first received it.
