Steam Deck: Why does my original Steam Deck sound output crackles on headphones?

My Steam Deck's speakers work normally, bluetooth headphones also work well, however, when I plug a headphone through the 3.5mm jack, I get this loud static sound on top of everything, making it impossible to use wired headphones on the device.

The static noise isn't always there, it is only there when some sound is played through the device. For instance, if I move the cursor in Steam's menu I'll listen to the static on top of the sound effect while if I leave it be, there is no static.

Steam Deck: Why is my steam deck increasing volume automatically?

Recently (after updating the OS), my Steam Deck has intermittently started increasing the volume. Additionally, when performing a cold boot, the unit loads into the boot manager instead of directly into Steam OS.

Any tips on troubleshooting the buttons on the audio board vs checking the trace? I am fairly certain I am experiencing an issue with the audio board, but I am not sure what steps to take to rule out software aside from the cold boot.

One more thing, I'm having trouble finding an audio board and would love to solder on a new button. Tips and tricks would be appreciated.

Steam Deck OLED: Replacing Paste and Tape on Steam Deck OLED

Hi, I'm planning to replace the factory thermal paste on my Steam Deck OLED and would like to know what brands you recommend. I've seen that Thermalright TFX has a good reputation for durability and performance, and since I only play casually, I'm looking for a high-quality, long-lasting paste so I can use it without worrying about frequent replacements.

Also, I noticed that when removing some parts like the heatsink or fan, some tapes are likely to lose their adhesion. I'd like to know what type or brand of thermal tape or adhesive I can use as a safe replacement, ideally one that maintains good contact and withstands heat like the original.

Additionally, I would like to know if the GuliKit joysticks (latest version) are really a significant improvement over the factory ones, and if it would be worth replacing them in the future.

I would greatly appreciate your recommendations for performing this maintenance correctly.

Steam Deck: Backlight bleed after SSD replacement

Yesterday, I opened my Steam Deck up to replace the default 256GB SSD with a 1TB SSD. I followed iFixit’s guide to the letter, and I was using their Steam Deck tool kit to make things easier for myself.

Upon completion, there is now some backlight bleed in the bottom left corner of the LCD and a faint vertical line of bleed up the left-hand side from top to bottom that wasn’t there before. I’m not sure what that could be as I was working on the opposite side of the deck to replace the SSD.

The bleed isn’t so major that I would replace my entire Steam Deck over it. It’s more noticeable on dark backgrounds like the boot up screen than when I’m in a game. I’m just feeling upset that the screen is no longer in the perfect and evenly contrasted state that I know it was in. There might also now be a reduced viewing angle from the sides where it looks more washed out/hazy, but I could just be imagining that now that I am scrutinising things!

I’m wondering what could be causing the backlight bleed after an SSD replacement. I’ve read that others have experienced this same thing after replacing their SSD. I even tried loosening the back plate screws just a tad in case I had done those back up too tightly. No change.

Any ideas what might have caused this?

I have only owned my Steam Deck for a couple of weeks. I bought it directly from Valve and it is new, not refurbished.
