PlayStation 3: How to realign blu-ray dirve

I had a YLOD problem. Before I eventually fixed it, I made the mistake of going into the blu ray drive and pulling out the disc that was stuck inside.

I think that this screwed with the ability of the drive to draw in discs like it normally does. What steps should I follow to properly reset this and get it to take in discs?

I have done the method where you unscrew one of the gears and that snaps everything back into place, but that doesn't seem to be all that I need to do. What position do the "arms" need to be in, for instance?

DualShock 3: X O Triangle and Square buttons not working‏

Hello all,

I am having trouble with my PS3 controller, all X O Triangle and Square buttons are not working. I have taken the unit apart, placed tape between the ribbon as advised elsewhere, but still these buttons simply don't work. The select PS and start buttons are fine however along with the D pad.

Could anyone please advise on how this issue can be fixed?

PlayStation 2 Slimline: Why is my game disk not spinning?

I had my Playstation 2 'stored' in a drawer of my room. When I decided to rehook it to play after possibly 3-5 years, it was very dusty. I took the time to make sure I blew out remaining dust inside the console and on the surface, along with making sure my game disk was in decent condition to play. I found that my disk was not being read properly no matter how many times I tried, so I looked into detail to see if the laser was working, or if it was spinning. Surprisingly enough, the disk will not spin! The break that will release the disk does release it when the lid is closed, and the console should be detecting the lid is shut, but it just won't spin. It won't with movie DVDs, CDs, or game disks. The first time I tried it, the game worked fine, but then I tried making a new save from it, then the game froze. Therefore, it surely was spinning until the sudden stop after trying to make a new save. If further detail is needed, I will be glad to try to add it.

PlayStation 3: "YLOD" What is the cause of the Yellow Light of Death?

A few months ago my PS3 went belly up after finishing up watching a movie on blu-ray. (Terminator: Salvation for the curious) I have what is colloquially known as the YLOD, or the Sony version of RROD. I hadn't even heard of this kind of failure in the PS3 until it happened to mine.

So what exactly causes this hardware failure? From what I could understand from reading other forums and complaints it stems from an overheating issue from the unit. But what does that mean? Did something melt inside? Did something come loose? Any insight or advice into this problem, and whether it can be resolved by a layman such as myself would be appreciated!

I have dissembled the controller and cleaned it from the inside then putting it back together.

The controller responds only when you press the analog button and it thinks you`re pressing X.

I think the wires are broken, so is there any way you can test do they work?

PlayStation 3: Can I permanently remove Demo mode from a Demo PS3?

1st, don't demonize me as I have seen others demonized in other forums.

I bought a Demo PS3 from Circuit City in Collierville, TN a few years back when they went out of business. I have the unlock codes to take it out of demonstration mode. However, the system is never truly out of demo mode. Several features are unavailable on this PS3. I can not access features like Netflix and other online resources.

I can play DVDs/BRDs PS1,2&3 games, access the internet, and other basic functions. I tried swapping out the HDD with no change in performance. This leads me to believe that the demo mode is hardware deep. Has anyone successfully unlocked one of these demo PS3s?
