All core functions work perfectly — it takes photos, uses zoom, responds to all buttons, and saves images to the SD card which I can view on my computer. The only problem is that the 2.5-inch LCD screen stays completely black/blank and unresponsive when the camera is on. However, if I shine strong direct light like sunlight or a torch onto the screen, the display becomes faintly visible and I can make out the menu, live view, and photos. This suggests the LCD panel itself is still working, but the backlight, backlight inverter, or flex cable has failed.
