Dell Inspiron 14-7440 2-in-1: year old smoothie spill on laptop, can my laptop be fixed?

hello! some background info/context:

almost an entire year ago now, i spilled a bit of smoothie on my laptop (dell inspiron 14 7445 2-in-1 is what it said when i checked the qr code) it wasnt much i dont think, and was on the top left corner of the keyboard. i turned it off almost immediately. at the time, i was at my grandparents, and nothing could be done until i got home a few weeks later. i told my dad about the issue, and he agreed to take it to get repaired

the spill happened in around october of 2025. it took him until late january 2026 to take it to bestbuy to get it looked at. due to a lot of personal family issues, there was nothing i couldve done to have gotten it looked at any sooner. however, the worker at best buy did not even look at it before saying that the motherboard was probably shot, and that it would cost over $700 to repair. so we left.

afterwards, my dad ended up opening it up and agreed that the motherboard looked dirty and likely couldnt be fixed. he was stingy about me looking at it myself, as ive never done a tech repair before.

fast forward many many months to today, where i finally was able to look inside the laptop myself. i noticed that the keys around where the spill was are no longer sticky, which they were INCREDIBLY sticky initially, which i cant tell if this is a good sign or not. i took the back off, and from what little bit of the motherboard i can see, it genuinely doesnt look dirty at all to me. i wanted to try to remove some more pieces so i could get a better look and see what all might need cleaning or if it just needed to be replaced, but couldnt get the battery out because of how hard the screws were to remove. im going to try again tomorrow morning with some help

the computer still hasnt been turned on since the initial spill, it was briefly charged before being taken in to bestbuy (legitimately for maybe like 10 minutes at the absolute most) but aside from that, nothing has been done

all this to say and with pictures provided, can this laptop be saved?

any help at all will be appreciated, thank you! :)

Toshiba Satellite: "No bootable device -- Please restart system" - Nothing works!

Hi everyone! Yesterday when I tried starting my laptop (Toshiba Satellite S55-A5295), I got the error "Checking Media - Fail " and "No bootable device -- Please restart system." This seems to be for no reason at all (I haven't downloaded anything recently or made any changes), however my hard drive has been making some loudish noises, so I'm not sure if that's the issue. I've read multiple forums and have tried everything I could find, but nothing has worked.

Here's what I've tried:

1. Opened up laptop and took out hard drive, battery, then plugged everything back in

a) removed battery, held power button 20 seconds, replaced battery re-connected to AC adapter

2. Tried hitting the reset button

3. Checked BIOS boot settings

a) changed Boot Mode to CSM Boot, and back to UEFI Boot

b) tried moving around the Boot startup (HDD/SDD) to the top

c) tried loading Setup Defaults

Is my laptop dead? I don't have a recovery CD and am not sure what else I can do. All of the videos and forums seem to suggest the same BIOS boot setting changes. Please help!

Lenovo Legion 5 15ACH6H: No Response from Power button; charging indicator lights up

Hello,

My nephew's laptop (Legion 5 15ACH6H) won't turn on, and nothing happens when the power button is pressed (no keyboard light, power light, or fan spin).

He has a tendency to mash the power button hard, so it's possible he may have somehow damaged it, although I'm unsure. Having looked online there is a suggestion of motherboard 'sudden death'; however, other instances I've seen have elicited some indication the power button does work. I tried reseating the RAM, as someone had suggested, but to no avail.

Sadly getting to the power button is a pain, and I only want to directly test it if absolutely needed. So I was hoping that someone may have some experience/knowledge they would be able to share?

Thanks for reading and any advice would be gratefully appreciated!

HP 250 G8: Laptop not seeing the hard drive

The laptop turned off on its own one day due to high temperature and after that day it has refused to boot from the hard drive. When ever the laptop is switched on it shows operating system not found, press f2 for diagnostic. Even after doing the diagnostics it still won't both. What could be the issue?
