I got hold of an old Coolpix 995. As soon as I turn it on, it makes a ratcheting sound as though it's trying to focus. If I press the shutter button halfway it stops, but then starts up again as soon as I take a picture. Is this normal for this camera?

One of the springy battery contacts at the bottom of the chamber has broken off, so the battery isn't being pushed up against the contact on the door. Are there any hacks for raising the battery slightly, preferably not something that will fall out every time you change batteries?

Nikon Coolpix S8000: Stuck pixels on the screen recently became larger

Last time the stuck pixel appeared it was smaller then overtime it disappeared but came back soon after, how do I fix it without paying a big amount 😢 Searched several times online but no clue. It’s so annoying and tiring, btw its bigger now like a round shape sort of.

Nikon Coolpix L820: "Battery Exhausted" on full batteries

Recently aquired an L820, and the device displays will boot temporarily, before displaying "Battery Exhausted", despite the 4x AA batteries having a full charge.

Batteries in question are 3 month old lithium-ion, if that's relevant

I bought this camera secondhand, so I do not have a usb cable

I've had this issue with my Nikon D3100 that was handed to me. The issue is that It will run on, maybe take 2-3 pictures, and then turn off and black out (or if im lucky enough it would freeze for 4 seconds) until I take the battery out, and put back in. The next time it happens again more faster + LCD artifacts. Google Gem keeps telling me it could be a fault with the contact pins for the battery compartment but I doubt it because they look clean! Someone please help!
