Moto X Pure Edition: I have a cracked screen

I dropped my phone and the glass has broken. What is the average cost to replace the broken glass? Does it pay to have it repaired or trade in for a new comparable phone. If it pays to get it repaired, can you provide a convenient location in my zip code (90035). Tx. Peter

Moto X Pure Edition: Device all of a sudden won't connect to cellular network?

I went through all of the troubleshooting with my phone service provider, they said it must be something with the device itself, and to contact Motorola. When I contacted Motorola they just said that my warranty was expired and I have to go to third-party repair. What could be wrong with my device? Is there anything I can try before taking it to be repaired? Thank you

Moto X Pure Edition: Is it worth pursuing repairing my phone?

I accidentally drowned my phone (Moto X Pure Edition) several days ago on a kayaking trip. As soon as I could, I turned it off and put it in a bag with a silica gel packet I had with me. On the way home, it accidentally got turned on in my pocket, but the screen had stopped working by that point and I had no means of doing a full shut down, since holding the power button just seems to restart it. I transferred it to a bag with perhaps a cup of silica gel desiccant and left it for several days.

At present, the screen still does not work, but the motion controls for turning on the flashlight and the camera do work. I’ve also caught it activating alarms a few times. It seems that it will charge the battery (since when I initially tried it, nothing happened at all, but it started doing a little bit after leaving it on the charger), but the computer does not register a device being plugged into it if I connect it by USB.

Does this sound like enough is working that it would be worth trying to repair it, or should I just go ahead and seek out a new phone? Thankfully, I’ve been pretty good about transferring pictures to my computer, so the only things I would seriously lose are the pictures from that trip.

Thanks!

Moto X Pure Edition: Why are there lines in my display?

Hi, I want to know what is ''causing ''the lines to appear in my moto x style display. Every time I turn-on the display, white lines start to appear on the display and after using my phone they flicker for sometime and then disappear (usually much faster if I use apps that have white background like chrome). But if I turnoff the display and then turn it back on they reappear. This cycle continues.!

They also don’t show-up if I take a screen-shot.

Please! tell me what is happening and also if I can fix it without replacing my display .

P.S.: I also sometimes notice ghost-clicks in bottom left corner of the display and usually occurs when the display is warm; as-if because of the warmth the electric-field is distorted by itself!

Moto X Pure Edition: Moto X Pure replacement screen from iFixIt

Is the Moto X Pure Edition replacement screen from iFixIt OEM or aftermarket? I’m talking about the ones here:

Moto X Pure Edition Screen - Genuine

If you look at the back of the pictures, the black screen looks aftermarket and the white screen looks OEM.

If I want an aftermarket part, they are much cheaper elsewhere. Having said that, it iFixIt does sell an OEM screen for the Moto X Pure, i’ll definitely get it here.

Moto X Pure Edition: Display won't come off

So I am trying to replace the battery on my Motorola X Pure Edition, and right now I have removed 20 screws. The guide I am following shows there are places for 21 screws, on the sim tray slot. Both in the image and on my phone, there is no clear screw in there. Also, when I try to take the display off, I can feel a resistance, is this normal, or did I do something wrong?

Moto X Pure Edition: loses data signal randomly until I remove and reinstall sim card

Motorola X pure 1st edition loses data signal without notice and randomly. When I realize it, I remove the sim card and reinstall it , then it is regained. happens about 3 times a month. Contacts on sim card appear relatively clean. Cant see contacts within phone as they are internal. I since removed my sim and installed it in another unlocked phone, and it doesn't have the problem. Note: this phone has a tiny plastic removable card that seats both the sim and external mini micro sd cards. Both are seated properly each time until without notice loses complete data( phone and texts). I notice as my phone hasn't rung in a while. Yes bill is completely up to date , and has nothing to do with data plan running out. When I've noticed it has gone out I had been home each time using wifi for web -browsing . Its as if the card loses its contact or something.
