Minolta Camera: Minolta SRT 200 Film Advance Lever Stuck

I picked up a Minolta SRT 200 from an antique store for next to nothing, seems to be in really good condition (very clean, things seem to work and move properly without a battery.)

But I can't move the film advancement lever beyond the 20-degree free rotation amount. With the back off the lever doesnt move any of the hardware inside.

Any ideas?

Minolta Camera: Why won't the camera shutter release in my Minolta SRT SC-II camera?

The film advance lever seems to have been fully cycled and is at its normal rest position. Pushing shuttter button by hand and by cable does not cause the shutter to activate. There is no film in the camera now. Removed the bottom cover and could not locate any issues, Moved the two visible ratchet hooks clear of the Pawls and tried both advance and shutter with no luck. Expect that the shutter needs to be fired before the film advance lever is free.

Advice on where to look and what to look for? If I need to go super deep into the works I'll probably give up on it.

Minolta Camera: Is this look like a crack or a deep scratch? *Minolta 80-200 f4.5 kit*

I asked this back in 2018, but didn't have the means to get a proper balanced photo of the defect. I know I could edit the 2018 post, but it's 5 years old and I had bad photos.

I have had this lens for quite a few years, as well as a mint 50mm 1:7, and both are "common" as the 50mm was often a kit lens, or a popular add-on at the time it was new. It has no issues and I got a chance to take it out 5 years later; it is freaking good. However, I took this one out with me as well to better inspect it (as well as a backup Sigma with similar range; 28-200 f1:38-5.6 UC) just in case; glad I did, as it was not pretty.

I'm pretty much just about 100% confident this is a crack, which is why I reverted back to the Sigma but was also prepared with a spare Quantaray* which doesn't go out as far, but is made by Sigma. Is this look usable, or should I dump it in a parts lens lot?

*PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME ANY CRAP about this based on the name like dedicated forums. I know about how quick some people are to rip on someone for having a Quantaray despite most being made by Sigma and not Tiffen since it's a Ritz special. Mine look like Sigmas.

Minolta Camera: *XG-1* Cleaning old battery acid from the cover?

I got this XG-1 untested with a 50mm 1:1.7 SR lens and have confirmed it works, but I had to make a minor adjustment to the film advance as the alignment was just a bit off. Other than that, it worked great at first after adjusting the shutter; I think my tests did it, or it was tripped up and I got it super cheap over that alone. I did a film test with a suspect roll of Kodak Gold 200 as it was not film tested (I didn't trust random film, specially from a vintage SLR). But there is damage from the leaky batteries in the battery cover that was there before I got it, from batteries which were never removed.

(The reason I was okay with trashing the unknown Kodak Gold 200? It's grainy, and I usually shoot Fuji 400 or Kodak professional stock, plus nor do I know when it expired/what's on it).

Vintage camera note: if anyone is worried that I inadvertently handled a "Mercury battery", I highly doubt it - even then unless it's leaking, they're like lead paint; harmless unless you intentionally do damage to them, to the handler. The ocean and landfill on the other hand suffers. Those were banned or were being banned when the time the XG-1 came out, so Minolta used LR44/AG13/357/etc. batteries in the XG series. Trust me, I had that worry since the mercury battery was so common for metering in film SLRs. But generally, it seems like most mercury battery SLRs only used it for metering, not function so you can just ignore it.

How do I clean this without damaging the battery cover? I can get them, but I'd much rather avoid trying to chase one down for such a old camera.

@danj the acid was neutralized but the nickel plating was damaged in the process. I shouldn't have an issue right?

Minolta X-370: My camera's shutter and mirror are sticky.

My camera has had a problem where if it is fired at a shutter speed slower than 1/125th, it has a pretty good chance for the shutter curtain to pop open only about a third of the way, almost completely close, and then the mirror gets stuck up. I can fix this by pushing the shutter all the way closed, and then the mirror will slap down and the camera will work fine. The batteries are fresh and working, the foam bumper for the mirror is the original one, but with absolutely no visible wear to it at all; it's not tacky in any way. Does anyone have any ideas?
