MacBook Pro 15" Touch Bar Late 2016: Horizontal lines on display unless lid half closed

This is my work computer that lives in my drawer. No wear and tear to speak of (other than opening and closing the lid). Opened the lid mid-day one day and horizontal lines completely cover the display.

If I slowly close the lid to about half way, the lines will disappear.

Only to reappear when the lid is opened again. Obviously a connection problem. This is a work computer and the repair shop quoted work $3000+ for this repair. Ludicrous. Also, no apple care was purchased so this barely-more-than-a-year-old top of the line Apple computer is suddenly worthless.

I'm not afraid to open the case, but could someone direct me to the cable that I should unseat and reseat, or perhaps even replace?

Any help greatly appreciated.

MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2010: Problem with NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256 MB?

I have never had a problem with this machine until 2 months ago when it began to crash badly (black screen) and frequently. I found one answer -- to disable switching between ordinary graphics and hi quality graphics. I disabled the switching so that the hi quality graphics is always in use and the crashing went nearly to zero. I also disconnected the 2nd monitor I was using. But I am still experiencing random seeming crashes and the reports seem to indicate graphics problems. Is anything to be done? or am I looking at a total replacement? (I also took it to the local Genius Bar and as was reported here, their tests did not detect any problem!)

MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Late 2008 and Early 2009: How to repair a bent corner of the aluminum lid?

Long story short, I accidentally dropped my MacBook Pro. It hit the ground and bent the corner of the aluminum of the lid. My computer works fine and the screen is fine, so this is merely a cosmetic question. How can I bend it back? Since it is aluminum I am guessing that I should be able to bend this back and solve my issue. For a $2000 computer designed with aesthetics as part of the appeal, I would like to fix this without getting ripped off $600 by apple.

I am sure this happens everyday, so this is not a knew question, but I am still curious if there is a DIY fix.

For some reason my macbook keyboard and trackpad are completely non-responsive. I know for a fact that the keyboard and trackpad are not the problem.

Here are some other things I have tried:

1) External keyboard and mouse work perfectly fine. I can log into OS X and everything functions normally with an external keyboard and mouse.

2) I performed an SMC reset using the built in keyboard. As I said, I know the keyboard is good.

3) I can not reset the PRAM using the built in keyboard. I can reset the PRAM with the external keyboard.

4) I have tried to leave the Macbook working till the battery dies then leave it for one night without charging and afterwards restarting it with power supply plugged in and they worked but afterwards they in s random startup they return unresponsive (I have tried this for two times and worked and I trying my third time now)

Please don't fixate on replacing the keyboard and trackpad.

The keyboard works before the chime (SMC reset) and does not work after the chime (can not reset PRAM). It seems like the logic board is turning off the keyboard when it chimes. Not sure what could cause this. Does anyone have any ideas?
