Jura Capresso IMPRESSA J5: Jura J5 Interesting problem with no water and no Fault!

Hi All. I have purchased a Jura J5, with a fault. Well technically it dosnt show a fault.

Original owner said was running fine then one day was leaking water from the bottom. and no water/coffee brew was coming out of the nozzles. The original purchaser (a company) gave it to an employee and bought a new one.

The employee tore it down and changed a piece of tubeing (i dont know which one) and now now it dosnt work.

You turn it on and it does its normal thing. It starts up and when it says ready, it grins beans drops it in the brew group, compresses it and dumps it in the waste tray almost dry and no water from the nozzels at all. Capp Spout is working fine with water etc. The nozzels you can hear it burbling, but nothing comes out. The machine is now leaking hot clean water all over the bench.

You can hear, that the machine is doing exactly and sounding exactly as it should. the pump is going the grinder is going etc.

so its on my bench torn down from your instructions on this site which are blinking brilliant! thankyou thankyou thankyou.

Before (and still now if i put it back together) there is no fault code.

There is no obvious blockage. There is no damaged pipes that i can see, no water leaking now anywhere.

Right so the interesting thing is: when i dissassembled the machine I found two things.

Step one two and three show a white formed plastic part with a hose attached. I dont have that. neither the hose or the white plastic part or the nozzle that attaches the hose to the brew group. I just have a arm that goes over the big hole in the top of the brew group. There is a spot that a hose joiner can go, but there is not one there. (if i can upload a photo i will¬!)

Link to tear down

also on step ten show a hose from the drainage valve. I do not have one. (as a question, if the drainage valve was taken apart (which i dont think the brew group was taken out before as its screws look perfect and untouched not like the other side of the machine where you can see they have been undone). but if the drainage valve was taken apart and somehow put backwards would that stop the flow of water?)

If I had a hose diagram i would be able to check where it is routed wrongly!

At present i can trace the water tubing from one item in the machine to the other, and all looks same in the images on the teardown that i can see. I can only assume it is from the very point that the water has to go into the brew group?? I can see a position where the drainage valve at the bottom of the brew group lodges into a socket that goes to the other side of the machine. I (think) that is where the water comes from?

Ok. Well Heres hoping all will be well, i dont have enough experience with how the machine is working to know where to look next. any ideas and also advise would be greatly appreaciated!

thanks again.

Keurig K75 Platinum Brewing System: Not pouring, also not clogged...

I have a Keurig that I was given for free, if I can fix it. It's serial number start with a 76 but looks just like a K75.

It pulls water in from the water storage, heats it up but does not pour it through to dispense it. I have checked the top pin that punctures the cup and it is not clogged. I have used a turkey baster and been able to suction out hot water through that top pin so I know that tube is not clogged.

So based on that I'm thinking that it's some motor after the boiler that is not working. It's not making any unusual noises.

I'm comfortable replacing a part, as long as I know what part needs replacing. Don't want to spend $50 if it only takes a $15 part. :)

Any ideas? Thanks!

Microwave: Microwave seems to come on, but only heats occasionally?

I have a Kitchenaid Microwave KEMS378GSS0. So the lights on, the fan's running, and the carousel is turning, but only intermittent heating. Before you jump in with the magnetron needs replacing, please read on. The thing is, I've found pushing on the door handle or a light 'thump', is usually enough to start the microwave heating when it's not (or stop it sometimes, if it was heating.) There's a noticeable 'thrum' (noise of some electrical part engaging) when that happens, even after the microwave has already started. I figure it's either a bad sensor or a mechanical issue like a loose connection or bad switch... but I was hoping to narrow it down before pulling out and apart our 8 year old built-in combination microwave & oven.

I do have some (slight) experience with repair work and circuits, but the expanded parts diagram really doesn't help show how everything is connected. At the moment the best I can come up with is one of the three microswitches that are part of the latching assembly serves as an additional safety keeping the magnetron from engaging and it's going bad?? That's where I'm stuck. It's the best I can guess at, but it doesn't make sense to me why the microwave would come on at all instead of just reporting a door open error if one of the switches was intermittently working.

So I'm here looking for experience with microwaves... Someone familiar with their design and/or repair who might make other suggestions as to what to look for when I do try and fix this beast. Or maybe someone that can confirm if it makes sense that one of the latch microswitches going bad (sticking, whatever) could in fact allow the microwave to come on but not heat up.

Thanks for reading,
