HTC One: How can I fix the purple-tinted camera on my HTC One M7?

My HTC One M7 has the purple tint camera issue. HTC wouldn't repair it (long story), so is there a way to fix it myself? I don't think replacing just the lens would do anything. I think it's a heat related issue. Would adding thermal paste to the heat plate help it?

I called HTC and they told me to do a factory reset, has anyone done this? I highly doubt a factory reset will help the issue at all. I only started to notice this issue after I had an update.

HTC One: HTC One M7 Completely Dead, possible fix

HTC One M7 ( PN0731).

Not sure what happened to it, but there is no charge, no connect nothing through USB, no Boot, not even a little red light when plugged in. No JTAG, since no power to the board it seems.

Scratching my head to figure out why, cant come up with any reason for such a complete failure. So examined it with microscope.

Found one component that might be the problem.

Location on Board:

Zooming in you can see that there is an IC that is cracked

What I'm looking for is help with 3 things:

1. Do you think this is the problem?

2. What is this component? It has an code (PAY 328), but I have no idea what that symbol in the top right corner is, so no idea how to look it up.

3. If not that, any ideas? I'm mostly concerned about data recovery, not making the device work again, so if anyone has ISP pinouts that might be a way to go

HTC One: Patch fix for blown speaker

Hi,

My HTC One's top speaker is blown.

I have bought it from abroad, hence I don't have warranty in my country. Therefore I want to fix it myself.

I am planning to fix it by patching very thin paper (about 30 micron thickness) to the teared area with instant glue.

Would it be possible to just open the top speaker grill without opening whole body? Maybe with application of some heat to the speaker grill itself?

And can you comment on my fix? Would it work? Would it still decrease the volume of the speaker noticeably if I work with a really small piece of paper very precisely? Would it have another unwanted effect on tone, etc?

I may consider replacing the speaker with a new one, I know in this case I will need to open the phone completely from the teardown, but I can't find original beats speakers on the internet. All I find is substitutes such as seen in http://www.ebay.com/itm/HTC-One-M7-Lauts... and http://www.ebay.com/itm/Speaker-Buzzer-R...

So I'm not sure about if these speakers will perform as good as the original ones, and think that fixing the original would be better.

What do you think and suggest?

Thanks a lot...

HTC One: Speakers cracking noise after screen replacement - repair nightmare

Hope someone on here can help me; I've searched everywhere can could not find a solution. The technician who worked on the phone for many hours looked at me and said "I have no clue"; I thought he was going to start crying.

Everything but the camera worked perfectly before the technician opened the phone to start working in it. It went downhill from there.

Context:

1. HTC One camera had purple problem - technician replaced it with new sharp camera that I ordered from etradesupply, new camera works fantastic, but the screen became all pixelated and died.

2. Technician replaced the screen from a bricked HTC one he had. New screen worked, but the speakers started to creakle.

3. I had a bunch of other issues (e.g. sim card not recognized - connectors not plugged in correctly), which resulted in the technician spending more than 12 hours on the phone and myself wasting 6-7 in going back and forth to his shop, waiting, and ordering parts.

Lessons learned for both of us

technicians should refuse to repair the HTC One,

I should have sent the phone to HTC for 4 weeks paid $200 and be done with the problem...

Problem description

As soon as volume is louder than 8 or 9, and during phone calls at any volume, there is a creaking noise from the speakers both top and bottom.

When the whole phone was outside the aluminum unibody frame the noise would stop. As soon as we inserted the top end of the phone assembly into the aluminum frame the noise started.

When beatsaudio is off problem is not as bad.

Questions

Speaker worked perfectly before the technician swapped the screen and reassembled the phone, is it worth trying to replace the speakers with new ones?

could it be interference from something that was not properly put together? It's kind of odd that both speakers started having the same issue at the same time.

Thanks so much for any help!
