Dishwasher: Why does my dishwasher only fill for the initial rinse but not the was

My dishwasher fills when I turn it on. It rinses the dishes then drains. When it goes to add the soap and fill again it doesn't fill with water (no water at all). The pump then runs dry for the cycle like it has water in it. It then drains (no water) and goes through what would be the rinse cycle, again without water. If I manually add water for each cycle it runs fine and drains properly. Something is not letting it add water, even though it can get water at the beginning

Whirlpool Quiet Partner II: The Whirlpool Quiet Partner II Dishwasher will not turn on

I have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner II Dishwasher Model DU1101XTP83. I washed a load of dishes and everything seemed to work fine. When I went to unload the dishes, the green light above the "Normal" touch pad was blinking but the dishes were clean, no standing water in the bottom. I've read thru several of the other posts on this topic but none seem to be the same issue.

I checked the breaker, it was not tripped. I tried turning it off for several minutes. When the power is turned back on, the "Door Lock" indicator light next to the "Heated Dry" button, blinks for about 60 seconds or so, then stops and the "Normal" light starts flashing again. The reset sequences mentioned in the owners manual, as well as those in other posts have had no effect, the only lights that come on are the 2 mentioned.

I tested both door latch microswitches for continuity, they are good. The thermal electronic fuse is good as well although I havent tested for voltage because I'm not sure where to touch the ground probe without causing more damage. I've disconnected each wire to check for any burnt connectors and also checked the control board on both sides for any heat damage or poor solder connections. Everything appears fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Whirlpool Dishwasher: Dishwasher won't drain when hot.

My Whirlpool dishwasher (WDT720PADM2) won’t drain during or at the end of the cycle. You can hear the motor running during the cycle and at the end, but no water drains. There is dirty water in the bottom of the dishwasher when it finishes. If I hit the cancel/drain button immediately after the cycle ends, it won’t drain, but if I wait for it to cool (about 30-60 minutes), it drains completely. There doesn’t appear to be any kind of clog, because the water flow is strong when it drains.

This problem has been happening intermittently for over 2 years. Two years ago, I bought a replacement pump, but the dishwasher started working before it arrived. Off and on, this has continued to happen for a few weeks at a time, and we just run a rinse cycle until it fixes itself.

I ended up replacing the pump, but it didn’t make a difference. Any ideas?

Dishwasher: Bosch shpm65z55n dishwasher thinks the door is open

This is a fairly new washer. We’ve had it less than 6 months. Last night I thought I ran a cycle, but it never started. Here’s what now happens:

I set the cycle, press start, and close the door.

The red light comes on solid, but the washer does not beep. Beeping is the sign that I’ve closed door without pressing start. By turning on the red light but not beeping the washer is acknowledging that I’ve pressed start and closed the door.

After a couple of seconds, the red light starts flashing.

The cycle never starts. The washer remains in that state indefinitely.

I examined the door latch, and it appears to be working correctly. When I trigger the lever, the latch descends. When I press hard on the latch, the latch retracts. When I close the door, the latch clearly engages, but there is a little bit of play. I don’t know if it that play is normal or not.

If I hold the door shut by keeping pressure on the door when I close it, the washer behaves normally. At any point if I release the pressure on the door, the cycle will stop, and the red light will begin blinking.

If I place a magnet to the left of the left screw that secures the door latch to the door, the washer believes that the door is closed and behaves normally.

I used a bit of ferrous metal to test the magnetic area that sits above that screw when the door is closed, and it is indeed still magnetic, though not as strongly magnetic as the magnet I used to test with.

I appear to have isolated the problem to the door latch/sensor. Before I go buying parts and replacing things, can anyone give me some confidence about whether I should be replacing the:

door latch

door sensor

the magnetic bit the sensor is supposed to be sensing

something else, like maybe the door hinges?

Thanks!

Whirlpool Dishwasher: Wash Motor Not Working

Whirlpool GU2700XTSQ fills with water but wash pump does not circulate water. When I start a cycle water fills the unit and can be seen in the bottom of the inside of the dishwasher. After a few minutes of the display of "time remaining" showing a linear symbol that rotated clockwise I heard the soap dispenser door open and the "time remaining" display is counting down from 62 minutes. No sounds or vibration are emitted from the dishwasher during the wash cycle. At the end of the timed wash cycle the water drains from the unit as expected.

I removed the wash pump and the unit can be made to spin inside when the gear is turned. I attached a multi meter and the resistance of the motor was ZERO. I tested the ground and there was no reading on the meter. The wash w motor capacitor looks normal without discoloration or bulging.

What should I look at next?

Thanks,

Dishwasher: Bosch Dishwasher won't cycle or spray water. Any ideas?

Hi everyone, first time posting here. My Bosch shu43c05uc/17 dishwasher isn’t spraying water or cycling through. The spray arms are clean and the filter is clean, so I don’t believe that’s the problem. I’ll start it, hot water gets pumped in, and there’s a loud hum sound. It’ll run for the duration of the cycle, but it won’t cycle through the different modes. It’s a sound that isn’t typical. And sometimes it will sit on the last minute until I cancel the cycle. It is able to drain.

I’ve reset it via turning power off. I’ve run the diagnostic, but I don’t believe that’s working properly (only showing the number “2” which isn’t an option online). The Bosch manual is terrible and provides zero information on this. Bosch told me to reach out to an authorized service tech.

What are some options causing the problem? I’m not finding much information online and before I call the handy man, I’d like to narrow down my options because their troubleshooting gets quite costly. And I’d even do the repair myself if it was reasonable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much!

Kitchenaid dishwasher KDTE104ESS4: No wash cycle Kitchenaid

I have a two year old Kitchenaid kdte104ess2. Replaced inlet pump already and has worked good for a while. Recently it started to not run the wash cycle. I would reset panel and it would run fine for a few days. Getting water and drains fine. No wash through the arms during cycles. Checked float and checked wiring for anything loose. Diagnostic said 6-4 code but again my float clicks and moves freely. I pulled out the other day because now it stopped wash cycle completely even after reset and hard reset at beaker. Did a hard reset and diagnostic. On diagnostic the pump and arm I could here working. Ran a normal cycle and again just fills and drains and fills and sits till the end. Plenty of humidity and heat when I open door but not clean and no wash cycle is heard. Could it be control panel. Again pump worked once on diagnostic so I don’t think it’s that

Whirlpool Gold Series Dishwasher: Dishwasher drains only when water in the bottom has cooled.

My dishwasher is barely a year and a half old. Model number WDT720PADM2 that has worked great until recently. It runs the cycle perfectly and then there is water in the bottom at the end. If I go and manually press the “Drain” function it will make a noise like a murmur but not drain. If I wait a few hours until the water cools (the pump even), it will drain just fine.

I don’t want to rip the pump out before knowing, but is it possible that the pump gets overheated during a cycle and won’t properly work until it cools? I took the drain line loose thinking that was the original culprit and it clears well on it’s own (I blew in it and had no issues). I ran vinegar/baking soda through it a few times as well to help clear that even more.

Dishwasher: How fix leaking dishwasher?

How fix leaking dishwasher?

Update

When does it leak? Immediately, in wash or rinse cycles?

Has it leaked since installation?

Was it moved recently?

When you first turn a dishwasher on, it pumps itself out to remove any water that has dripped off of the dishes just put in. When it washes, it fills up to just below the door then recycles that water (nice thought) and sprays it around before pumping all of it out. Rinse is with fresh water that is used and pumped out.

There should be a 'panel' below the door on the front that can be removed with 2 screws (or so). Remove that panel to see underneath with a flashlight. You can cover the kitchen floor with newspaper to better locate drips.

You can open the dishwasher and pour water in the bottom to see if it leaks. Fill it up until almost the bottom of the door, wait a few minutes.

If it leaks, look underneath for the source. Could be a hose that a rodent has eaten or has cracked from age. Or it could be the 'tub' itself or the pump housing. Note: water can run down a part and then drip. It may not be the part you replace but the seal between that part and another part. Sorry, you just have to look. Sometimes you can tape toilet paper to a part to see if water is running down it. There is not much room under there.

If it does not leak there, close door and just turn unit on. Unit should pump water into disposal and/or sink. Turn unit off and check for leaks.

If it leaks under dishwasher, look for cracked housing around water pump or bad hose.

If it leaks near sink, check hose and connection to disposal/sink.

If no leaks so far. Pull dishwasher out about 2" from cabinets. Run dishwasher. After first full wash cycle, wipe gasket (working from top down) with toilet paper, paper towel or newspaper. Press hard enough to touch ,but not move, gasket. Check for water on paper every few inches. If paper is wet, (I usually mark the spot with masking tape). Turn unit off, open door and inspect gasket from there up (water runs down hill). Gasket will probably need to be replaced although some repairs are possible.

If it leaks when off, problem is probably near where water enters. *this is very bad*. Please consider replacing water hoses and/or dishwasher. I would replace unit, not worth the risk.

Note: If you pull the dishwasher all the way out, the drain hose *must* be put back on the top of the unit or water from sink will get in and it will smell bad, bad, bad and will not drain properly. See your installation instructions for details.

In a pinch, you can take the unit outside (turn off water supply first), connect a garden hose (you may need an adapter) and run it in the yard to look for leaks. You will need an extension cord (16/3 in the US - smaller numbers are better - I use 12/3) that is as short as possible (25 foot or less - no exceptions). Do not use 'temp boost' or allow it to stay in dry cycle for more than a few minutes. You can prop the dishwasher up on wood or cinder blocks and get a good look underneath (be sure it is safe before sticking your head under there - run it once to make sure vibration will not make it fall). Remember the unit is *not* rain proof.

Personally, I would lean toward damaged hose or damaged gasket rubber usually gets eaten, cut or bent.

When i opened the footplate and ran the dishwasher, I could hear a few soft clicks when it got stuck. Not sure if its from the inlet valve or the circulation pump?

I have run out of ideas. Please help!

Thanks,

Bosch Dishwasher: Bosch Dishwasher SHE65T55UC-X01 smells and molds plastic

Bosch Dishwasher SHE65T55UC-X01

Why does my dishwasher smell and mold my plastic?

I've had the same rotten smell problem, as many posted, after purchasing a stainless steel Bosch over a year ago. Smells like rotten garbage and my plastic dishes (pre-rinsed or not) get black mold after only one day in washer. The stink is even when only 4 or 5 items are in the washer. The vinegar and dw cleaners work for a couple of days; then stench returns. Reps came to look at it a few times during first year and adjusted temp. They recommended NOT rinsing and running it daily ! (Now how does that rate as energy saving ?) Nothing works. I've read all comments about P trap and loop. Our double sink has T configuration and the P trap is under the floor (basement ceiling) rather than under the sink. The dishwasher hose is looped mid-sink level. Note, however, this problem never existed with old dishwasher with same plumbing set up. Odors disgusting. Ruining my plastic too and wondering how much unnoticed mold we're consuming too. Any help please?
